BLUE SEPTEMBER NEWS

Go blue for the day! The biggest weekend on the sporting calendar brings fans from all football codes to the Imperial Hotel on Bourke Street, Melbourne, to watch non-stop football and don the blue face paint to raise funds to support the fight against cancer in men.

AFL fans congregate for the Grand Final at the MCG, the pressure will be on Collingwood fans to follow in the footsteps of Liverpool fans despite Geelong being the blue team in the final.One of the biggest shocks of the day will see members of the Melbourne Liverpool Supporters Association (MLSA) forsaking their traditional red face paint to go blue during the Merseyside Derby against Everton their oldest rivals, despite the fact that Everton are traditionally the blue team!

MLSA is laid down the gauntlet, with a spokesperson saying “If the Mighty Reds can go blue for the day, then anyone can!”

Geelong fans should need no encouragement to go blue and with the Rugby World Cup also in full swing, there should be no problem convincing Scotland’s rugby Tartan Army fans to go blue during their clash against the Auld Enemy, England.

Later in the day fans of Glasgow Rangers & Manchester City will also join in the fun.

Join us at The Imperial Hotel, Corner of Spring & Bourke St, Melbourne ~ All proceeds raised through gold coin donations will support the Blue September nationwide awareness and fundraising initiative about the cancers that affect men. The campaign aims to raise men’s awareness of cancer and help them to reduce the risk of developing and dying from cancer by making better lifestyle choices and seeking help sooner rather than later.
