Grampians Pharmacy staff ready to paint the boss blue
Stawell - Staff at Grampians Pharmacy aren't really that interested in painting the town red, instead they are all going blue for a good cause throughout September.Blue September is about facing up to cancer in men and also an initiative to increase awareness of cancers in men, while at the same time raising money.
We all know someone who has had cancer or is suffering from cancer. Many will have lost a family member or friend through this, given that 22,000 Australian men die of cancer each year.
Susan Byron and the girls at Grampians Pharmacy in Stawell are organising a fundraiser on
September 22, to raise money for this fabulous cause.
Staff are taking donations and bids to win the right to paint their boss, Sue Gunnell blue for
the day. The highest bidder is the one who gets to paint Sue. At this stage, the highest
individual bid is $50 so if you would like to see Sue blue, call in to Grampians Pharmacy
and make a bid, or just a donation. Painting will commence at 2pm on September 22.
There will be a sausage sizzle from 11am onwards, with sausages being donated by Newton's
Butchers. A raffle and several other fundraisers will also be conducted throughout the day.
Special items will also be marked for the fundraiser, including Quilton toilet paper. The product
will sell for $4.95 and $2 from each sale will go towards cancer research. Each sheet has a
special message about men's health and cancer.
Any other businesses or organisations who would like to offer their help or make a donation,
contact Susan Byron on 5358 2105 or 0407 502 571, or simply call into Grampians
Pharmacy in Main Street.
All proceeds from the Painting the Boss Blue fundraiser at Grampians Pharmacy will go to the
Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia.
Grampians Pharmacy staff are looking forward to their Painting the Boss Blue fundraiser on
September 22!
