OFFICEWORKS Mildura is turning blue in support of Men’s Health. Across Blue September the store will be raising funds and awareness for Men’s Cancer.

This weekend Officeworks will hold raffles, face painting and sausage sizzles which kicked off yesterday.

A range of activities will be held at the store throughout the month and people will be able to donate with the proceeds raised going to The Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia.

Blue September coordinator, Alecia Brook said it was a great event supporting a worthy cause. “This is our first time participating since we opened, and we are pretty excited about it,” ms Brook said. We hope to see everyone come down and show their support for the event and we will have activities, giveaways and a few other things running each weekend during September for the public to enjoy."

Officeworks Mildura store manager, Greg Murtagh, said they were proud to get behind Blue September. "Everyone knows someone affected by cancer," Mr Murtagh said. "If we can encourage our male customers and team members to get a check-up and think about making healthy choices that can only be a good thing."

Chief executive of the Australian Cancer Foundation and Blue September representative, David Brettell said that in many cases, male cancer deaths could be prevented. "With more than 22,000 Australian men dying of cancer each year, Blue September promotes prevention through a healthier lifestyle and encourages men to face up to cancer," Mr Brettell said.

"We're grateful that Officeworks is on board and taking donations to help find a cure for a disease that affects so many Australian men and their families."
