Chris Judd and Marc Murphy help turn the MCG blueCarlton Football Club and Hyundai Australia teamed together to raise awareness for Blue September and men’s cancers at last Saturday’s AFL game at the MCG, at 2.10pm on the 14th August. Face masks of Marc Murphy and Blues Captain Chris Judd were given out to the crowd, as part of an ongoing campaign helping to raise awareness and funds about a disease that claims the lives of 1 in 4 men before the age of 85.
The face masks featured each of the two Carlton superstars wearing blue face paint, with information about Blue September included on the on the other side.
20 Hyundai staff and 10 volunteers at the game handed out the masks along with blue face paint, encouraging patrons to get involved and support the cause.
At three quarter time the 44,716 patrons in attendance were treated to a Blue September teaser featuring Chris Judd and Marc Murphy, encouraging people to visit the website and find out more about the campaign.
Other highlights of the day included a DJ and an MC spruiking Blue September. Hyundai cars were also at the event, including the eye-catching new Hyundai i20, which is to be given away later in September on the 7pm Project as part of the campaign.
It is all for Blue September, a nationwide awareness initiative for men’s cancer and raises money for cancer research, aiming to do with blue for boys what pink has been able to do for girls' cancer. The goal is to raise funds for cancer research, as well as helping men reduce the risk of cancer by making healthy lifestyle choices.
Blue September supports The Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia.
